Field Day is Monday, June 4!
Please have your child wear tennis shoes, appropriate clothing,
and bring a water bottle (labeled).
Please apply sunblock at home, and if you haven't
had a chance, please send in $1 so your
child may enjoy a Kona Snow Cone!
Students will be participating from
9:30-11:30 and 1:45-3:00.

Rosedale Fourth Graders: Youth Making a Difference!
The Rosedale Fourth Graders decided to support the
Beat Neuroblastoma Foundation, in honor of Kellen Weakley,
Mrs. Weakley's son (she is one of our kindergarten teachers).
Theses students decided to collect coins, sponsor a bake sale, and there
were individual students who had their own, personal fundraisers.
Hayes Elementary and the LPS Central Office HR staff also collected and contributed.
The grand total raised for the organization was over $2,000!

Mr. Kyle Matthews, the Executive Director of Beat Nb, wrote, "... thank YOU!!! Really incredible - I was encouraged to see all those kids so happy about what they did. Made my day. ... Thanks again so much - this really does have direct affect on kids like Kellen right now, and I couldn't be more grateful."

Hillary’s Happenings
It was wonderful to see so many of you at Spring Fling last week!
I hope to see just as many of you at Arts, Beats, and Eats on June 8th.
Our final book fair of the year will also be taking place then,
so please stop by that evening and browse for your summer reading options.
Students will also be able to browse and shop during their LMC time
from Wednesday, June 6th through Monday, June 11th.
These dates are a little different than what will be posted on flyers
and bookmarks that will be coming home.
Please also see the links below for reading incentives this summer.
Our public libraries always have great activities,
and your child can earn a free book from Barnes & Noble as well.
Together, we can prevent the summer slide by encouraging our children to keep reading!
