BE SAFE!
Our boys and girls will be learning about the 9 Character Traits throughout the school year. We have been discussing, practicing, and learning about the first trait, BE SAFE. The students have heard all about ways to BE SAFE around school, inside, outside, and on the bus. Please reinforce this character trait at home, and have discussions with your child about what it means to BE SAFE at school. We appreciate your support.

OPEN HOUSE
Open House is this Tuesday, Sept. 19, 6:00-7:30PM. Please come and join us for an informative evening, meet your child's teacher, and walk through the school. Please pay special attention to PARKING, and follow the directions of the personnel outside directing traffic. If at all possible, and if you live within walking distance of school, it will be a beautiful night to consider walking to this event, to help alleviate some of the parking congestion.

• Kindergarten families will start early, at 5:45 in Room 2 to hear a presentation from the LPS Foundation. This is for kindergarten families ONLY.
• Open House starts at 6:00, when all families will be invited to walk throughout our halls, checking out the various tables we'll have set up, along with viewing the classrooms.
• By 6:45, all students should be in the gym for a presentation of Animals From Around the World, while all parents/guardians should report to their child's classrooms for curricular presentations from the teachers.
• By 7:30, parents will be asked to report back to the gym to pick up their children for the end of the evening.

ARRIVAL REMINDER

Congratulations! Students are becoming more and more independent, as parents are leaving their children at the entrance of the building during arrival times. We really appreciate your support with this procedure.

AT THE MORNING BUS STOPS, the same procedure needs to happen. Please say your good-byes before the children load the bus, to ensure a speedy pick up. Remember that buses are stopping morning traffic, and for everyone's safety and to keep the buses on schedule, the children need to be ready to load when the bus doors open. Please help facilitate this process!
