Yearbook Order Forms
Our first round of pictures was this week, and you had the option of ordering a yearbook with your picture order.
If you did not do that, and wish to order a yearbook,
a separate yearbook order form is available,
and will be coming home in backpacks.
Please return your order to your child's teacher.

Fire Trucks Visit First Grade
The first graders enjoyed an in-house field trip on Thursday.
What a great way to reinforce our September month-long study of BE SAFE!

Conference Times Reminder
Just a reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences are this upcoming week,
Wednesday, Oct. 18 and Thursday, Oct. 19.
The students have half days, and conferences are from 1:00-4:00 or 5:00-8:00PM.
Please keep your scheduled appointment.
We look forward to partnering with you regarding your child's education!

Reading Proficiency Reports
Coming home today in your child's home communication folder is their Reading Proficiency Report.  This report is being sent home to all elementary students in LPS.  The report will identify your student's Fountas & Pinnell reading level and their overall iReady proficiency level.  In addition, the letter will establish their Individual Reading Improvement Plan (IRIP) Status.  If students do not meet the grade level criteria for BOTH the Fountas & Pinnell reading level and iReady proficiency level they will qualify for an IRIP.

Kindergarten reports will identify your child's letter identification and sound identification scores, and whether or not they qualify for an IRIP.

Details of the IRIP will be shared at Parent/Teacher Conferences on the 18th and 19th of October.  While the interventions provided to our students are not a new practice, the documentation sent home to you as required per the Third Grade Reading Bill (Public Act 306 or House Bill No. 4822) is new.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs. Kohler
