December 11, 2020

Today (Friday) is a HALF DAY of school.
Your child will have (2) live sessions this morning,
and has the afternoon off.

Change in Mode of Instruction

Families who have requested a change in instructional mode via the surveys sent to parents, either into or out of Livonia Virtual, will be notified the week of December 14 and those transfers will be effective following the return to in-person instruction.

The pause for in-person instruction is scheduled to end as of Friday, January 15th.  With no school in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 18th, the return to in person or requested movements to Livonia Virtual is scheduled for
Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

5 Ways Parents Can Help

Students During Remote Learning
(Adapted from cnbc.com)
1. Have a dedicated space for learning.
Also have all materials ready to go!
2. Create routines, not schedules.
Rather than create a rigid schedule that may not work, instead try to create a signal that it's time to work, like a gentle song for example.
3. Take brain breaks.
Deep breathing, running up and down the stairs, or going for a walk all count as brain breaks!
4. Break down tasks into smaller pieces.
But make sure the student is doing the work, not the parent!
5. Stay in contact with your child's teacher.
Communication and partnership is KEY!
